Welcome

Hello and welcome to the CATH shop.

We are very much part of our local community with our prize winning window displays and loyal customer base.

We pride ourselves on creating a friendly atmosphere where everyone is welcome to browse. Whether you are a regular to the shop or a first time customer you will receive a warm welcome and are sure to leave with a bargain.

Our staff and volunteers are always happy to help whether you are looking for dinner plates or a digeridoo (although we can’t guarantee the digeridoo!). We have a huge range of stock which is updated on a daily basis. The CATH Shop always offers great value as we want to be accessible no matter how deep your pockets are.

As a result, the CATH shop has gone from strength to strength since it was established in 2010.

Our goals have always been;

  • To promote the charity and draw attention to the issue of homelessness,
  • To raise much needed funds for the charity, and
  • To provide opportunities for volunteering.

Revolve: First Choice for Second Hand

Revolve, Scotland’s national re-use quality standard, aims to increase re-use by improving professionalism, customer experience and visibility of re-use organisations.

While we are no longer working directly with Revolve, we are still committed to achieving the high standards that we did when we were with them. As a result, you can be sure that the products that we sell are of the highest quality and that we are providing high standards of customer service to ensure the best shopping experience possible to our customers.

In addition, our commitment to reuse is unwavering. As such, we are continuing to work with a number of recycling organisations in order to ensure that every one of your donations is as impactful as possible.

We have also expanded our ‘On the Mend’ project to offer regular workshops and crafting sessions.

It is due to our generous donors that we have so many lovely items to sell and we are always delighted to receive donations of good quality saleable second hand items such as clothes, handbags, accessories, bric-a-brac, books, CD’s, DVD’s, electrical goods. In fact, anything that deserves a second chance. Donating to the CATH Shop is the perfect way to recycle and generate funds for a local charity. We are always happy to help if you are not sure what we can accept as a donation. Please call into the shop or phone us on 01738 580665 or contact us via email on shop@cath-org.co.uk.

The CATH shop runs with a manager, assistant manager, supervisor and a large and dedicated team of volunteers and work placements. We owe much of our success to this team who create a fun and lively shop atmosphere with great customer service at its heart. We have a relaxed atmosphere where everyone is appreciated for who they are as well as what they can bring to the charity. Our volunteers come from a variety of backgrounds and come to volunteering with CATH for all sorts of reasons. We in return offer a supportive and inclusive environment where volunteers can thrive, share their skills and ideas and learn some retail skills whilst raising funds for CATH Projects.

If you would like to join our team you can come into the shop and pick up an enquiry form or make an online enquiry.  The next step is an informal chat about becoming a CATH Shop volunteer.  The shop offers a no obligation ‘taster’ if you are unsure if volunteering is for you.  We are also happy to hear from young people wanting to work toward Duke of Edinburgh and Saltire Awards.

You can apply to volunteer online (Volunteer Enquiry Form)
